Marco! (boom, boom) Scutaro! (boom, boom)
This just in: Monkeys hurled off backs, ghosts banished, albatrosses fall from necks.
The Oakland A’s win the ALDS three games to zero over the Minnesota Twins!
In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Oakland shortstop Marco Scutaro hit an RBI double. In the bottom of the 7th, he hit another double, but this one was for three-runs to seal the game. The dude hit an RBI double in each game of the series. Not bad for a player who spent seven years in the minors and two seasons as a backup for the Mets before really getting his chance in the bigs with the A’s in 2004.
| Game 3, ALDS | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | R | H | E |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minnesota | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 12 | 3 |
| Oakland | 0 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 0 | X | 8 | 8 | 1 |
For what it’s worth, prior to the series I had picked the Twins to win in five games.
